Social Media Says

Hey man, whatever they say abt Nestle, this is taking it too far. They'd at least wait until they're sure the death meant more for their bottom line.
This reminds me of a sad story that once happened at the Nestle factory in my home town, when a member of staff was seriously injured when a pallet of chocolate fell more than 50 feet and crushed him underneath... He tried in vain to attract attention but every time he shouted "The milky bars are on me" everyone cheered...

This is absolutely ridiculous. Nestle would never let the children they kill inside their factories.

What You Really Think

I just realized that this is suspiciously similar to the opium wars. Oh god.

]a wild anti-vaxxer appears].

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

Just saying, but the children don't actually die in the movie.

Yeah, no one dies. They just get permanently disfigured.

In fairness, the oompa loompas don't exactly make sure before bursting into song.

In the original draft of the novel some of the kids would die.

Oompa loompa doopideedoo, I've got to go and lay a huge poo!

Nothing like firing thousands of local laborers to "hire" an entire uncontacted tribe and paying them in chocolate. I mean, the family of Charlie is basically living in a slum. Charlie's grandpa used to be hired in the Wonka's factory but was fired because Wonka decided that he prefers free labor.
