Our country has lost, perhaps at the worst possible moment, a civil rights icon and moral leader. We must protect what John Lewis made his lifes work: the right to vote. My statement on the passing ofJohn Lewis.

John Lewis was hardly a hero. Didnt learn anything from Martin Luther King Jr. He was part of the problem, not the solution. He was re-elected 16 times in Georgias 5th congressional district, a seat held by Democrats 47 yrs. Lewis refused to attend inaugurations of Bush & Trump.

He will be very careful with his words. He will not want to rile up his base with anything that might be misconstrued as empathy. There were fine folks on both sides of the beatings that John Lewis took while marching for civil rights.

If you think this country should honor and memorialize heroes of the Civil Rights Movement like Congressman John Lewis rather than white supremacists like Edmund Pettus.
Well done my good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and celebrate together. Rest in paridise Congressman John Lewis. We thank you for.
